Originally stocked with trout as early as
the 1800's, the stretch of river between Windamere Dam Wall and
Lawson Park Mudgee was trout declared in 1991 and is now stocked
every year with 10,000 trout fry ensuring an excellent trout
fishery.
Our guides will provide you with a fishing
experience that you will never forget. Not only will we put you onto
the fish, our trips are designed as an educational experience so you
will acquire the skills and knowledge to successfully fish for trout
on your own.
All tours leave from Mudgee and
it is only a leisurely 10-20 minute drive before we are
on the water. For those visiting Mudgee we will pick you
up from your accommodation.
All equipment is supplied on every tour. All you need to bring is
appropriate clothing and a sense of adventure!
Spinning Trips
Spinning for trout is our
speciality at Fish N Trips. It's the best way for
newcomers to learn the art of trout fishing and a great
way for more experienced anglers to gain knowledge off
our skilful guides.
Quietly stalking along the
stream you cast your lure into a good looking hole, you
crank the handle a couple of times and BANG, the fight
is on. This is an experience sure to get your heart
racing!
Fly Fishing Trips
The Cudgegong River
is one of the most testing small stream fly fishing
experiences you will have, but is also one of the most
rewarding. Fish up to 5 and 6 pound can be found lying
in pockets of water no bigger than a kids swimming pool.
Not only is it a challenge to get your fly into the
right spot for a strike, once hooked the fish then have
to be landed! Fly fisherman never forget an afternoon
spent on the 'Cudgee'.
Our fly fishing
trips are suitable only for experienced fly fisherman
with their own equipment. Casting tuition is not provided.
Bait Drifting Trips
Baitdrifting is an
experience unique to Fish N Trips. This is a style of
fishing that was once very popular amongst the trout
fishing fraternity. These days bait-drifting has been
replaced by the more popular methods of spin and fly
fishing but still is a very effective method of catching
trout.
This experience is
great for experienced anglers wishing to learn new
styles of fishing.
